Kerry Ann Rockquemore, PhD is Associate Professor of African-American Studies and Sociology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her research focuses on racial identity development among mixed-race children, interracial family dynamics, and the politics of racial categorization in the United States. She is co-author of Beyond Black: Biracial Identity in America (2001, 2nd edition 2008) Raising Biracial Children (2005), The Black Academic’s Guide to Winning Tenure Without Losing Your Soul (forthcoming), as well as over 20 articles and book chapters. Her work has been featured in numerous media outlets such as the New York Times and ABC’s 20/20. In addition to her scholarship, Professor Rockquemore was the founder of the Under-Represented Faculty Mentoring Program at UIC

Tracey Laszloffy, PhD is a faculty coach and therapist who maintains a private practice in Connecticut. Prior to this she was as Associate Professor at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania where she served as Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy masters program. Dr. Laszloffy has published extensively in the area of race, oppression, and family therapy training and practice. She is co-author of Teens Who Hurt: Clinical Interventions to Break the Cycle of Adolescent Violence (2006), Raising Biracial Children (2005) and The Black Academic’s Guide to Winning Tenure Without Losing Your Soul (forthcoming).
